Craftsmanship and Materials
To achieve the desired antique effect, we used a specially formulated Pewter Antique Solution applied by hand with professional-grade brushes, tools, and applicators. Since the material was new and raw, no prior stripping was required. The finish was carefully built up through layers of tonal application, allowing for a natural, organic result that complemented the high-end bathroom design.
On-Site Challenges & Considerations
One of the key challenges was matching the client’s vision precisely. To do this, we initially conducted a sample application on a test piece, which allowed the client to approve the tone and texture. We then replicated that effect on the main bathtub in situ. Seamlessly blending the joins and working around fine contours required patience and precision — especially given that the pewter had been installed raw, which made surface preparation more intensive.
