The Peninsula Hotel – Bronze Restoration & Maintenance

London, England

bronze restoration at Peninsula Hotel

Project Overview

We were commissioned to undertake an extensive programme of bronze restoration and refinishing works for The Peninsula London, one of the city’s newest and most prestigious five-star hotels. The scope included thirty-two courtyard pull handles, the main entrance doors, external window surrounds within the courtyard, the canopy structure, and internal window ledges.
Each element was restored to align with the hotel’s signature dark-bronze brand tone, ensuring absolute consistency across all architectural metalwork.

Craftsmanship and Materials

To restore the bronze to its flawless condition, our specialists used a combination of Bronze Solutions, professional hand tools, abrasives, and precision applicators.
Every surface underwent a full strip-and-refinish process where necessary, while stable areas were carefully cleaned and re-waxed to preserve their integrity.
This approach balanced efficiency with conservation, maintaining the original craftsmanship while renewing the depth and warmth of the patina.

On-Site Challenges & Considerations

Because The Peninsula Hotel remained fully operational throughout the project, planning and coordination were critical.
Our team worked closely with the hotel engineering department to schedule tasks around guest movement, ensuring a discreet, clean, and safe workspace at all times.
High-level areas such as the courtyard canopy and upper window surrounds required the use of a MEWP (operated by our PASMA-trained technicians) for safe elevated access.
Each phase was delivered with meticulous care to meet both the hotel’s safety standards and its uncompromising visual expectations.

What the Client Said

No formal testimonial was provided; however, the hotel confirmed that all agreed works were completed successfully and expressed full satisfaction with the results.
The engineering team noted the quality and consistency achieved across multiple visits, commenting that the restored bronze features beautifully complemented the property’s refined architectural character.

Final Result & Special Notes

This restoration represented the high level of precision and coordination required when working within an active luxury hotel environment.
By carefully balancing restoration and preservation techniques, our craftsmen reinstated the rich dark-bronze patina across dozens of architectural features while keeping disruption to an absolute minimum.
The Peninsula London continues to maintain its surfaces through planned upkeep, preserving the metalwork’s enduring beauty for years to come.
As one of London’s most exclusive hotels, scheduling and access were planned in detail with the hotel’s engineering team to accommodate both operational needs and guest privacy.
