Bronze Restoration at InterContinental Hotel
London, England

Project Overview
We were commissioned to carry out bronze and brass restoration across key guest-facing areas at the InterContinental Hotel on Park Lane in London. The works included the external bronze entrance doors, interior bronze handrails, satin brass kickplates leading to guest rooms and the polishing of the main polished brass façade signage at the hotel’s primary entrance.
The aim was to refresh and restore the metalwork while preserving the hotel’s refined identity and ensuring every surface presented a clean, consistent and prestige finish.

Craftsmanship and Materials
The restoration process involved a careful full strip and refinish of the bronze elements using specialist Bronze Solutions, polishing pads, hand tools and manual abrasive techniques to control finish depth and texture. Satin brass kickplates were mechanically polished using a precise abrasive pad method to achieve a consistent brushed surface.
All elements were hand refinished and sealed with Renaissance Wax to help maintain clarity, tone and protection under daily guest interaction.

On-Site Challenges & Considerations
The hotel remained fully operational throughout the works. This required discreet, orderly working practices and planning around guest movements to avoid disruption. In addition, the client had particularly high expectations for finish accuracy, making attention to tone matching, sheen and touch consistency essential.
What the Client Said
No official written testimonial was provided, however the works were signed off as completed to the required standard at the time.

Final Result & Special Notes
This case demonstrates our ability to restore varied architectural metals in busy hospitality environments where both finish consistency and minimal disruption are priorities. Our team ensured all bronze and brass surfaces were reinstated to a polished, refined and long-lasting appearance.
