Bespoke Patination was appointed to carry out a comprehensive bronze refinishing project across multiple areas of the prestigious Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London.
The works included the refinishing of bronze profiles throughout the hotel, the full restoration of the handrail leading to the Peak Fitness Club and Spa, and the restoration of bronze balustrades within the pool area.
Our aim was to reinstate the metalwork to the hotel’s refined brown-bronze tone, ensuring all restored surfaces aligned seamlessly with the brand’s visual identity and luxury aesthetic.

Craftsmanship and Materials

The restoration involved a combination of Bronze Solutions, professional applicators, hand tools, abrasives, and Renaissance wax.
Each surface was individually assessed to determine whether a complete strip and refinish was required or if cleaning and re-waxing would be sufficient for stable areas.
This bespoke approach ensured that every detail—from the prominent lobby handrails to the intricate poolside balustrades—was treated with precision, care, and respect for the original design intent.

On-Site Challenges & Considerations

As the hotel remained fully operational throughout the project, strict attention was given to maintaining a clean, safe, and discreet workspace.
Our operatives worked closely with the hotel management team to schedule activity around guest movement and daily operations.
The pool area presented a unique challenge due to its warm and humid environment, requiring careful control of materials and finishing times to achieve a consistent result.
